2025-12-04 Version 1 of the ROR API and schema will sunset next week
about 12 hours ago by Amanda French
During the week of December 8, v1 of the ROR schema and v1 of the ROR API will be turned off and will remain permanently deprecated.
This means:
- Queries to the ROR API that include
v1in the path (e.g., https://api.ror.org/v1/organizations) will return a 410 status and will no longer return results from the ROR registry. - Files in the ROR Data dump on Zenodo will no longer include CSV and JSON files of the registry in the v1 schema.
- V1 documentation will no longer be available.
Our logs indicate that less than 8% of ROR API requests currently specify v1 of the ROR API, but if you are among those who haven't yet switched to v2, please consult our documentation of ROR schema v2 for detailed information about the differences in data structure between the two versions.
